| CNGT is a group of clergy, churches and
Christians from across all denominations brought together by our
experiences of working among Gypsies and Travellers.
The Network was formed in 2006 in order to encourage and
support each other and to learn from each other's experiences
and insights, and especially from our Gypsy and Traveller
brothers and sisters.
We also seek to be available as a resource to other churches,
clergy and Christians.
The group relates to Churches Together in Britain and Ireland
and we are most happy to work with other faith communities and
agencies.
How could we help you?
We believe that, in situations of
confrontation between Travelling and settled communities, the
Church is well placed to be an agent for reconciliation,
understanding and justice.
So CNGT offers ...
support to Church leaders and communities
faced with confrontation and misunderstanding;
experience on how to diffuse tension and seek
reconciliation;
help on listening to the concerns of both
settled communities and Gypsies & Travellers;
teaching on the history, legal matters,
social issues and cultural differences concerning Gypsies and
Travellers;
help in providing talks, study days,
presentations and other resources for Church groups, leaders and
students. To get in touch with us please see our
contacts page.
